Introduction

At dME, we are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the trust of our users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information across all of our products: dME Browser, dME Connect (browser extension), and dME Secure (our web-based management platform).

By using any dME product, you agree to the practices outlined in this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

ME is designed to protect corporate environments and is deployed within managed organizational contexts. We do not collect personal data directly for commercial purposes. However, to provide core security, compliance, and performance features, the following types of data may be processed depending on product configuration and usage:

a. From dME Browser:

  • URLs visited within the managed browsing session
  • User interaction signals (e.g., copy/paste, downloads, uploads) to detect risky behavior
  • Device information (browser version, OS, screen size) for compatibility and security
  • Telemetry data related to browser crashes or anomalies

b. From dME Connect (Extension):

  • URL and page metadata from corporate tabs
  • File metadata for downloaded or uploaded content (e.g., file type and name)
  • Signals related to phishing, malware, or unsafe site detection
  • Browser version and basic system information

c. From dME Secure (Management Layer):

  • User activity logs for administrative and compliance review
  • Policy enforcement logs (e.g., blocked websites, app usage)
  • Device enrollment and authentication metadata

All data processed by dME is scoped to your organization’s security policies and never used for profiling or advertising.

2. How We Use the Information

The data we process is strictly used to enable and improve the security and administrative features of dME products. Specifically, we may use the information to:

  • Detect and prevent phishing attempts, malware, or unauthorized access
  • Enforce organizational policies related to app usage and data protection
  • Support IT administrators with audit trails and compliance reports
  • Provide user support and resolve technical issues
  • Monitor and improve product performance and compatibility
  • Complying with legal obligations

We do not use data for marketing or resale purposes.

3. Information Sharing

dME does not sell or share data with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

Data may be transmitted securely to infrastructure services (e.g., cloud storage, telemetry, analytics) used by the organization or its authorized providers. All transfers are encrypted, and access is limited to administrative users or service processors approved by your organization.

Your data remains under the control of your company’s IT administrators and is governed by their internal security and compliance policies.

4. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:

  • End-to-end encryption
  • Role-based access controls
  • Secure software development practices
  • Minimal-permission architecture for extensions and apps

All dME components operate under a zero-trust security model, requiring authentication and policy validation at each step.

5. User Control & Access

dME is a business-managed solution. End users operate under policies defined by their organization’s IT department. Therefore:

  • Individual users cannot override privacy settings configured by their organization
  • Requests to access, correct, or delete data must be submitted to the organization’s administrator
  • If you are an end user with questions, please contact your internal IT team
6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our practices. In the case of significant changes, your organization will be notified through the appropriate administrative channels.

We encourage administrators and users to review this policy from time to time.
