Introducing AI Rules for dME Secure

dME Team/January 20, 2026

Today we are launching AI Rules - a new feature in dME Secure that gives IT teams visibility and control over how AI tools are used across the organization.

Why IT teams need AI visibility now

AI tools are everywhere. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini, Midjourney - your team is using them daily. Some of that usage is sanctioned. Some of it is not. And most IT teams have no idea which is which.

The questions we hear most:

  • Which AI tools are my employees using?
  • Is anyone pasting customer data into ChatGPT?
  • How do I allow AI tools for some teams but restrict them for others?
  • Can I see what data is being shared with AI services?

Without answers, IT leaders are stuck choosing between blocking AI entirely or hoping nothing goes wrong. Neither option works. Blocking AI kills productivity. Ignoring the risk invites data exposure.

AI Rules answers all of these questions and gives you a third option: informed control. You see exactly what is happening with AI across your organization, and you set the boundaries that make sense for your business.

How AI Rules works inside dME

AI Rules runs inside the dME browser. It detects when users interact with AI tools and applies policies you define:

See everything. A real-time dashboard shows which AI tools are being used, by whom, and how often. No guessing. You get a clear picture of AI adoption across your organization, broken down by team, tool, and frequency.

Set the rules. Allow, restrict, or block specific AI tools per user group. Marketing can use ChatGPT. Finance cannot. Engineering gets Claude. Everyone gets Copilot. Policies are granular and easy to update as your needs change.

Protect sensitive data. Set clipboard and paste restrictions for AI tools. Prevent users from pasting customer records, financial data, or proprietary code into AI chat interfaces. Rules apply in real time at the point of interaction.

Full audit trail. Every AI interaction is logged. Search by user, tool, or time range. When compliance asks for a report on AI usage, you have the data ready. When a board member asks how the company is managing AI risk, you have a clear answer backed by data.

Real control without blocking innovation

The goal of AI Rules is not to prevent AI usage - it is to make AI adoption safe and intentional. Your teams should be able to use AI tools that help them work faster. IT should be able to ensure that company data stays protected while they do.

AI Rules makes the secure path the easy path. Employees use AI freely within the guardrails you set, and IT gets the visibility to verify that policies are working.
